Emergency at the coast? Call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.

Join the watch

Volunteer roles at NCI Rame Head — a few hours a month can help keep people safe on the water and along the coast.

Why volunteer?

Watchkeepers monitor the coast visually and by radio, support mariners with Channel 65 checks, and feed accurate information to HM Coastguard when something looks wrong.

Full training is provided by the National Coastwatch Institution. No prior maritime career is required — reliability, teamwork, and a clear head matter most.
